Spanish Course

The Spanish course is held on Tuesdays for 20 weeks of the school year. The students enjoy the lessons, which comprise a mix of the four skills essential for language learning—reading, writing, listening and speaking. The teacher is a native speaker of Spanish, Senora Caroline Calderon, who uses the communicative method of teaching to get students speaking in Spanish from the very first lesson. Topics covered this year include the Spanish alphabet, numbers, dates, times, how to introduce yourself in Spanish, talking about hobbies, and discussing famous people and professions in the Spanish speaking world. Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world, behind Chinese and English, so it is great to see students making the most of this opportunity.
